TIL (Aurora Awards division)
Today I learned that Wab Kinew, the newly elected NDP premier of Manitoba, won an Aurora Award in 2022 for his YA fantasy novel Walking in Two Worlds.
Once upon a time this would not have been news to me--I would have been on top of not just the mainstream news reports but all the fannish literary developments in Canada and elsewhere. But I've been severely disconnected from both mundane life and fandom for a while, so probably everyone else knew this, and commented on it, long ago.
Nevertheless! This news, though belated to me, makes me very happy.
