Random fannish notes
1. The New Yorker has an interesting article on Susan Bay Nimoy's restoration of an art deco theatre in LA named for her late husband. Elsewhere, Zachary Quinto appears in a short promo for the theatre.
2. I keep misreading the AO3 tag "canon compliant" as "canon complaint," and I think, Oh, yes, my thoughts exactly, but then cognition self-corrects and I'm back where I started. (And the actual "canon complaint" [sic] tags that I click on turn out to be typos.)
3. Malapropisms seem to spread as widely and rapidly as viruses. Maybe it's just my fandom, but I'm seeing, for example, "singular" used when "single" is meant, "partake" used when "participate" is meant, and "palate," "palette," and "pallet" used wrongly and/or interchangeably. I know that usage changes and language evolves, but it's pretty annoying to have to endure the process as it happens.
4. As one of the commenters says, "Odds Are," a Lower Decks vid by
starlady, is "pure chaos and friendship and greatness." Highly recommended to those who haven't yet seen it, and to those who already have.
